Wake Me Up

Wake Me Up is an advanced GPS alarm, specifically designed to save battery power and network data usage.

Currently, the following cities have had their train stations mapped:
  • Melbourne
  • Brisbane
  • Sydney

If you live in one of these cities, you can purchase the corresponding app from the App Store which will include every metropolitan station already mapped. If you do not live in one of these cities, you can use the Wake Me Up Anywhere app which allows you to choose any destination from a map.

As the stations are mapped, Wake Me up can accurately determine the distance you are away from your destination station. It uses this information to allow the iPhone to turn off the GPS chip and go to sleep until you are close. This saves battery, especially useful if you are going to be away from a power source for an extended period. If you’re using the Wake Me Up Anywhere app, you can specify the type of transport you are using, which will allow the iPhone to sleep based on the distance to your destination and the speed of your transport.

It also provides iPod controls directly within the application so you can easily tell which song is playing, and change tracks or pause your music when required.

When you are near to your destination, an alarm sounds, which can be turned off by either touching on the button on the screen, or tapping the headphone’s play/pause button.

While the GPS is active, the nearest station is displayed on-screen.
